Good luck to super hero students

Everyone at NULC are sending a message of Good Luck to the group of first year BTEC Public Service students who are facing the greatest challenge of their lives.

As part of their latest module the students have been tasked with organising charity events, resulting in them climbing to the 3,560ft summit of Snowdon on Friday 6 May.

As if facing the daunting climb wasn’t enough, the energetic students decided that both themselves and lecturers should attempt the climb dressed as superheroes!  Lecturers Ron Morley and Rob Hadnum have elected themselves as Batman and Robin and a whole host of superheroes turned up today in their outfits.

The group are raising money for the leek based Sandally Education and Development Scheme (S.E.N.D.S), who help the lives of children in a tiny village in The Gambia. The charity assists with and provides school equipment, building of toilet blocks and library equipment. The latest project, which the students are raising money for is building accommodation blocks for the teachers. The teachers are essential in providing an education for the children of Sandally.

To find out more about Public Services courses or to donate to the charity please contact Public Services Lecturer Rob Hadnum at Newcastle-under-Lyme College on 01782 254223 or email Robert.Hadnum@nulc.ac.uk.
