College fun day welcomes sport and public services students

Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) held a fun day on Thursday 9 September as part of its student induction week.

The event took place on the College’s sports pitches at The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, and featured giant sumo wrestling and an assault course.

The fun day was organized to help new sport and public services students to make friends. Many of the tasks on the day required team building and communication skills, vital to succeed on a sport and public services course.

Lucy King, Marketing and PR Manager at the College, said: “The fun day was organised to help our new sport and public services students to make friends and settle in to college.”

She added: “Thankfully, the weather stayed fine and everyone who came along seemed to really enjoy it. I’ve no doubt we’ll be holding similar events in the future.”

Other obsticals and games featuring at the fun day included archery, tug of war and a tightrope exercise.
