Students join forces to organise Charity Week

A group of first year BTEC Public Service students from Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) have joined forces to raise money for various charities.

The students’ latest module has tasked them with organising charity events, resulted in a week of charity events.

The course prepares students for careers in the Uniformed Public Services such as the Emergency Services, Armed Forces, the Prison Service and many more. As part of Charity Week the students have organised a car wash, raffle, rowathon, music gig and are also facing their greatest challenge; climbing Snowdon.

Charities which are to benefit from the activities include Help For Heroes, S.E.N.D.S (Sandally Education and Development Scheme), Fire Fighter’s Charity and Royal British Legion.

Charity Week will be taking place from 6 May. Activities include:

Tuesday 10 May - Car Wash, in conjunction with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service outside the Gordon Banks Sports Centre.

Tuesday 10 May – Raffle, prizes include gym membership and various attraction tickets including Trentham Gardens, Trentham Monkey Forest and football matches.
