BTEC Public Services students presented cheques to various charities including The Fire Fighter’s Charity, Help for Heroes and S.E.N.D.S. The hard working students organised a week of events in May to raise money for charity, including climbing Snowdon, a Rowathon and Car Wash and have raised an astonishing £2291 in total.
Representatives from the charities were invited to attend a cheque presentation at the College on Thursday 23 May. Students presented the cheques to their chosen charity and spoke of their reasons for choosing the specific charities.

BTEC Public Services lecturer Rob Hadnum said “We’re all so extremely proud of the amount of money the students have raised. They really threw themselves in to the project and their hard work has really paid off. To raise just under £3000 in 1 week is phenomenal.”
The students organised the events as part of a module on their BTEC Public Services course. The BTEC Public Services course at NULC prepares students who want to progress in to a career in the uniformed forces.
